O’Neill Associates is always proud to support students from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law (Lakehead University, Thunder Bay) through the school’s unique Integrated Practice Curriculum (IPC) Program.
Andrew Mawdryk and Steven Rayson will be completing their Placement with OA in the upcoming academic year, and we are excited to welcome them.
Andrew is the current co-President of the Human Rights Law Club at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. Prior to attending Bora Laskin, Andrew completed an honours in political science and a major in geography at McGill University. During his undergrad, Andrew played Junior hockey in Montreal, and spent his summers in his home province of Quebec, working as a Camp Director at a non-profit camp for underprivileged children. After departing from camp in 2020, Andrew received the Camp Spirit Lifetime Achievement Award for his passion and dedication to the camp. Andrew believes that his combined experience of running a camp and playing hockey has instilled in him the importance of commitment, organization, and teamwork.
Steven is committed to improving the lives and circumstances of those who are disadvantaged. While attending the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, Steven was selected as an academic role model to be a Dean’s Fellow for Property Law. He is regularly involved in his community, serving as the Club President of the Bora Laskin Table Talkers Club, Vice-President of the First Generation Network: Lakehead Chapter, and an instructor and club officer of the Lakehead Martial Arts Club. For the past several years, Steven has promoted disability advocacy. He has worked alongside national organizations related to student accessibility, and recently co-authored a policy research paper regarding the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine to disadvantaged groups.
All of the associate lawyers at OA are graduates of the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. This is just a testament as to the exceptional talent being produced by this distinctive Law School.
