Andrew’s passion for building a better community led him to his new volunteer role on the Board of Directors of the Lakehead Social Planning Council (LSPC).
LSPC is a non-profit, non-partisan, charitable organization that is dedicated to building a better community through strategic alliances, social research and the provision of valid, reliable information. LSPC initiatives and programs include its income support programs such as its income tax clinic that results in millions of dollars returned to the local economy; its housing and homelessness programs, including its tiny homes partnership that provides the funding for indigenous youth to build tiny homes for their communities; and its Poverty Reduction Strategy and annual reporting. Since 2008, LSPC has also run 211 Ontario North, a multi-channel information and referral system for northern Ontario populations.
