Small business is the backbone of Northwestern Ontario.
Funded by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, in partnership with FedNor, Thunder Bay Ventures administers the Community Futures Program, a program that provides financial assistance to small businesses in the Thunder Bay region for new business startups, as well as expansions to existing businesses, in amounts up to $600,000.00.
Thunder Bay Ventures is hosting a virtual presentation “Things that small business employers need to be aware of in COVID times” at noon on Friday, April 30 – from a lawyer’s perspective. Rodi-Lynn Rusnick-Kinisky will be moderating, and the presenters will be Prof. Daniel Dylan of the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, Amy Parker, Legal Counsel for LU Community Legal Services, and OA’s own Associate Lawyer, Elizabeth (Liz) McLeod. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought on an onslaught of questions from many employers, and Liz has helped navigate them through these muddied waters. Liz will be able to discuss the key points from an employer’s perspective.
